My 2019 Holiday Gift Guide

Well to put it simply…Christmas is fast approaching I don’t know about you but it seems to creep up soo quickly!! This year, I am determined to not be a last-minute, Christmas eve shopper.

Every year I seem to be missing something, participating in that last minute dash to the shops because I’ve forgotten a person or forgotten those crucial on card purchases. But this year will be different! This year organised Melly is coming to the fore…and in honour of this momentous occassion I have decided to try and help all you other amazing people who tend to fall into the “late shopper” category!! P.s. your welcome lol!

I have collated a list of 6 items that I think would make perfect gifts for family and friends and are simply classic additions to any household.

CANDLES:

Candles are always a great idea especially when scented, there are so many brands that do aromatherapy and luxury candles…let’s face it, you simply can’t go wrong.

You can find them in a variety of different scents, sizes, and packages which is absolutely fantastic and means they can be catered to your loved ones wants and needs. The other great thing about candles is you can use them all year and they last for ages. Some of my favourite brands include Jo Malone, Rituals, Diptyque and Floris. Understandably these are a bit on the pricer side, however, they are beautifully packaged and the quality is impeccable with lasting scents that will fill your room with smells and an atmosphere that is out of this world. For those of you on a budget, I haven’t forgotten you, try brands such a Oliver Bonas who are known for their incredible candles and diffusers, or heck out the likes of Yankee candle who do fantastic Christmas scented candles like gingerbread and pine. You simply can’t go wrong!

FLUFFY SOCKS:

Who doesn’t want a pair of over-the-top fluffy cozy socks to chill in! They are perfect for lounging and chilling in on a cold winters night in front of a toasty fireplace. Most of the time people neglect to purchase these types of items for themselves so it always makes a great gift. H&M and Bed Bath and Beyond have an amazing collection of over the top fluffy socks so make sure to check them out if you go down this route.

COZY SLIPPERS:

Adding to the lounging theme a pair of super cozy slippers always makes a great Christmas gift especially for the friend who is a massive homebody and enjoys the comfort of their home rather than the outdoors. As mentioned prior, this is one area people tend to neglect when it comes to shopping for themselves so why not spoil them with the coziest pair of slippers you can find. You can find some amazing pieces and all very reasonably priced at Ardenes, ASOS, and Marks and Spencer.

BOOKS:

Books are some of my favourite things to get for Christmas, even though I don’t read as much as I’d like or should, its always wonderful to receive a new historical fiction novel or an autobiography. Find out what your friend is interested in and get them a best seller in that category – practical and thoughtful!

I’ve also found that cookbooks can make some of the best gifts. The great thing about them is you can get a wide variety, for the person who is a lazy chef like myself, there are easy crockpot recipes or 1 pot cookbooks that make cooking quick and easy, for the more experienced chef, I would recommend you pick up a fine dining cookbook or dinner party recipes. Regardless of who the person is, there is a cookbook for everyone. Try Mary Berry’s cookbooks they are pretty straight forward and the recipes are to die for.

WIRELESS PHONE CHARGERS:

This one is probably one of my favourites and is perfect not only for techies but everyone, because who doesn’t own a phone!? They are literally the coolest gadgets and are wireless, meaning no wires!!! Now I don’t know about you but I’m and so tired of the short wires that come with my phones and I’m sure I’m not the only one who expresses this frustration. A wireless charger means charging your phone anywhere you want when you want as close or as far as you want. You can get some great deals from Bestbuy or even Walmart.

GIFT CARDS:

Last but certainly not least for the friend who loves makeup and beauty I would stay away from buying actual products as makeup and beauty products are a very personal choice…take perfume for example, it’s very unique to everyone. Some may think gift cards are lazy but that is totally false!! one of my favourite things to get is a gift card to my favourite beauty/makeup shop. You can grab these virtually anywhere some of my favourites are MAC, SpaceNK, Liberity London, Sephora, and John Lewis.

Well, guys, this is my Christmas gift guide for friends and family. I’d love to hear your thoughts on gifts you think should be added to this list and what you buy for the person that has it all.

Happy Shopping and God bless

Mel xx
