I don’t know about you but I find one of the hardest things to do as Christians are to have absolute faith that God is working in any given circumstance, to not be afraid or anxious about the challenges and trials that come our way. As many of you know Mel and I are currently going through one such challenge and there have been times when it has been so hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel, so hard to maintain that faith when nothing seems to be going your way. Can you relate??
Interestingly for us, it is during this time that our foundation in Christ comes to the fore, when trial comes I don’t know about you but my comfort is the Word, it is His Wisdom and the praise of His name that truly keeps us moving on that narrow path. Let’s face it nowhere does God promise that we won’t suffer in this life but what He does promise is that He is walking with each and every one of us, hand in hand into the valleys of trial and up the mountains of challenge that we all face. Never forget that His GRACE IS ENOUGH!!
The bible is filled with encouragement and reminders that no matter what our Lord, our Father in Heaven is with us to uphold and uplift us. Psalm 16:8 says this:
I have set the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
Similarly, 1 John 4:4 says this:
You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
Each and every one of us should take such encouragement from these words – do not fear for the Lord your God is with you. Whatever situation you face, wherever you are at in your journey know that you are loved and there is one who sits above all, one who will never leave you nor forsake you, one who has already OVERCOME!! This life is temporary but He is eternal and there is nothing you cannot do in His name.
May the Lord bless you and keep you, may He make His face to shine upon you and give you His peace.
