Omni King Edward Hotel Toronto – Review

I celebrated my birthday in Downtown Toronto earlier last year with a few of my closest girlfriends and my lovely sister. Being the first birthday I had in Canada after six years of living in London this birthday really was special…my hubby and I really wanted to make it extra fabulous.

We decided to stay in Downtown’s core which is the financial hub of the city at the exclusive Omni King Edward which was quite fitting considering I had just moved back from the UK. You can take the girl out of London but can’t take London out of the girl LOLS. I loved it so much we decided to stay there again for our recent staycation.

The outside of the hotel reminded me of the buildings in my beautiful London UK. First impressions upon entering were…this hotel is absolutely beautiful. Upon entering there is a gorgeous lobby and seating area where you can relax, have a conversation or wait on your ride. At the corners of the lobby were four decorative jumbo chess pieces separating off the seating area. We discovered in the corner of the foyer there was a secluded drawing room with a large chess table for a game of chess or perfect for grabbing a book away from all activity. The walls were covered in beautiful portraits of the queen of England and other English royals that aristocracy.

The first time we stayed in the Deluxe two queen bedroom as I was staying with a friend. Upon entering I was greeted with a birthday cupcake and a very special note wishing me a happy birthday which was a lovely touch. The room was huge it could have easily slept, 3-4 people. It was decorated quite modernly with small English accents, a large TV and small seating area in the corner. The beds were beautifully made in clean white sheets with two oversized red pillows with the outline of a crown. Overall I was very happy with the room and its upkeep. The bathroom was covered in marble-like tiles from head to toe with great bath essentials. The second time around we stayed in a huge luxury deluxe suite that was unbelievable. The room was divided into three parts as you can see in the photos. The sitting room, bed area and where the office/dressing area was.

We tucked into some dining delights on our stay there and I would have to say the food was very good. We thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. They have two restaurants situated downstairs one that serves afternoon tea and the other serves as a bar/restaurant. I would highly recommend The Consort bar.

The staff were very warm and welcoming the entire time. They helped us with the valet and assisted us with our bags which was great.

The hotel is in a great location as it’s literally in the heart of the city close by the shopping and entertainment district. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone new to the city or just looking for a city break. I will definitely be staying here again without a doubt. Thank you Omni King Edward for an amazing experience on both occasions.
